Sometimes the party season can be stressful. There’s just SO much to think about, from outfit options to what to serve and also how to make your drinks parties stand out from all the other hundreds of celebrations that will be going on. Well, no more, say goodbye to the festive stress because we’ve created a ‘drinks party cheat sheet’ to not only survive but thrive this season.
let’s talk Outfits…
For a real showstopper, you’ve got to try our Green Velvet Wrap Dress. A classic silhouette which features an almost unbelievably flattering gathered waist and as if that wasn’t enough there’s a folded cuff pleat for added detail.
Have you ever been in one of those awkward situations, you’ve turned up to a party and someone is there in the same dress? It’s happened to all of us (well not anymore). Stand out and wear your PJ’s. It’s a trend that’s not going anywhere (See our How To Style PJ’s blog for more information) and it’s one of our personal favourites because let’s face it, we’ve all been waiting for the day when it was socially acceptable to wear your pyjamas outside. Add a classic black heel to our sumptuous Silk Striped Set, one thing is for sure, you’ll definitely top the best-dressed lists. The premium heavier weight silk offers a cleaner, thicker finish which makes it perfect for the inside-outside evenings.
For those that are after a sexier edge, we have the perfect dress. Our Burnout Slip Dress is complete with delicate spaghetti straps and it skims the body while the asymmetrical detailing elongates the body.
Drinks parties can be a huge juggling act. Trying to perfect the art of balancing creating delicious snacks and actually spending time with your guests is challenging.
Don’t slave away all day, instead try these recipes:
A sure-fire way to a successful drinks party is in the name… plenty of drinks and you can’t really go wrong with a classic G&T. There’s a reason it’s such a crowd-pleaser, but why not take it one step further and create a Southside cocktail? Simply add mint leaves, lime juice and sugar syrup and serve in our gorgeous Fluted Gin Glasses for a Truly memorable start.
For those moments when you really want to impress with minimal effort, keep it simple with homemade foccacia.
9 tbsp Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
3 Sprigs Rosemary
300g Strong White Bread Flour
7g Fast-Action Yeast
Sea Salt Flakes
Step 1: Put 6 tbsp of Oil with the Rosemary in a bowl to marinate.
Step 2: Put Flour, Yeast and remaining oil in a bowl with the sea salt, gradually add 175ml of water and mix until you have a sticky dough.
Step 3: Knead the dough on a lightly oiled surface for around 6 – 8 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic. Tip dough into a bowl and cover with a tea towel and leave for an hour or doubled in size.
Step 4: Punch risen dough down and put on a baking sheet. Leave to rise for a further 30 minutes.
Step 5: Heat the oven to 220c. Use fingertips to make dimples in the dough and then drizzle the rosemary-infused oil on top. Sprinkle extra sea salt and olives for an extra edge.
It’s surprisingly easy to make and will definitely have everyone talking. Serve on our beautiful Round Wooden Serving Board. Made from highly durable acacia so you don’t need to worry about this one being out during your party!
Why not serve the focaccia with some smoked salmon pate? Oh, also this can be made in 10 minutes. Double bonus!
Smoked Salmon Pate
To create this heavenly pate, mix smoked salmon, crème cheese, crème fraiche, lemon juice and dill together. For a stronger taste, add more smoked salmon and dill and serve in our Footed Star Bowl for that extra impressive edge.
Enjoy this party season. So, sit back in your gorgeous Velvet Wrap Dress, G&T in hand and trust that everything is taken care of.
